Lexi DuPen was born and raised in Snohomish, graduating from Snohomish High School. She went to on attend Washington State University, where she earned a double Baccalaureate of Science in Criminal Justice and Psychology, minoring in Sociology. While pursuing her degree, she discovered a true passion for the criminal justice system. Her background and perspective blend an in-depth understanding of sociology and psychology, which uniquely prepared her to understand and connect to the human elements that exist within the system and related cases.
She found herself compelled by the inequality and inequities that criminal defendants face and was driven to support and promote fair and equal justice for all, regardless of circumstances or past mistakes. It was with this spirit and determination that Lexi joined DUIHeroes as a legal assistant in 2022. Lexi handles many aspects of client care and day-to-day firm operations, as well as coordinating the attorney’s calendars and managing the firm’s discovery process. In a short time, she’s become a highly valued and integral member of the team.
After gathering experience in the field, Lexi applied and was accepted to the APR 6 Law Clerk program, which is a 4-year mentorship-based program that prepares legal personnel to sit for the Washington State Bar examination. This alternative to traditional law school allows students like Lexi to remain employed full-time, gaining valuable experience, while simultaneously studying to become an attorney. Of course, Lexi intends to become a defense attorney — A HERO in the making!
When Lexi isn’t studying or working, she enjoys shopping, crafting, and baking. Lexi lives in Mill Creek with her fiancé and her chihuahua, Gizmo.
“Everyone has a story and deserves the chance to tell their story. I want to make sure our clients have the support and compassion they need to get through this traumatic experience.”
